Can anything bad happen if you take Yeast Infection treatment when you don’t have one?

Posted by admin under yeast infection treatment

I’m not going to the doctor [no insurance] so I’m not 100 percent sure if I have a yeast infection or not. If I take the medication [just incase] will anything bad happen if I don’t have one?

I think I read somewhere that if you do that you’re making future yeast infections more resistant to the medication so they’ll be harder to get rid of.
I’m sure there are tests you can buy to see if you have any type of infection. They should be right next to the yeast infection creams at drug stores.

Has anyone else experienced a lot of liquid while taking yeast infection treatment?

Posted by admin under yeast infection treatment

I started the 3 day canesten tab last night and this morning when I awoke there was a bit of blood and a lot of liquid on my undies. Why did this happen? Is it normal? Is it possible you can go too far with the tab applicator? Can you use tampons while using treatment because it’s as if I’m on my period now (this is probably due to missing too many birth control pills as it happened last month). Thanks.

Yes it’s normal to have a lot of discharge, NO do not use tampons while your doing the treatment then all your doing is holding the infection in and making it worse. Chances are the bleeding is due to your inconsistency with the birth control or your vaginal wall is irritated. If it keeps up you really should see your Dr. Good luck and feel better soon.

What are the signs of a yeast infection?

Posted by admin under yeast infection

I have a yeast infection. I am treating with Monistat. But before I used the medicine today, besides your normal signs, my mom told me that these symptoms are also of a yeast infection. Bloating, nausea, pukeing on long car rides or from the smell of coffee, spotting, and being really tired. I think these other symptoms are signs of pregnancy, not related to my yeast infection. What do you think?

You are right. The signs you mentioned are NOT signs of a yeast infection, those are itching, discharge, painful urination.

How to heal a yeast infection naturally?

Posted by admin under yeast infection

I have been fighting what I am guessing is a yeast infection for over a week now. It hasn’t gotten extremely bad until today, I am not wanting to take an antibiotic because I am 34 weeks pregnant. Any suggestions or ideas for natural solution to clear this up?

As well as treatments you also want to make sure you’re not doing anything to make the infection worse. Normal vaginal health; wash regularly but only with water (soaps, washes, wipes, sprays, powders, douching, or even ‘feminine’ cleaning products all effect vaginal pH so cause infections), keep yourself dry (avoid tight or synthetic clothing), safe sex (anything that goes into your vagina should be clean, no food stuffs), and always wipe front to back.

Yogurt is the best known way, it contains lactobacillus acidophilus, a bacterium that also happens to be found in healthy vaginas and that kills yeast by producing hydrogen peroxide. You need to insert plain pro-biotic yogurt into your vagina, do this before bed to avoid mess then wash in the morning, do this for a few days to get rid of the infection. You can put the yogurt into ice cube trays to make it easier to insert, the cultures don’t survive as well but this way is less mess and the coolness helps ease the irritation.

Garlic, not recommended if you’re sexually active, but it works as it contains natural antifungal substances that kill off yeast. You insert a garlic clove into your vagina, peel beforehand but do not score the clove in anyway as this can sting your vagina, if worried about removal you can use a little clean muslin around it or tie string around it for easy removal.

Tea tree oil *check with your doctor!* essential oils tend to be a bit of a grey area when it comes to pregnancy, better to be safe then sorry. It’s a generall all-round anti-nasties, if you have a menstrual cup, softcups or a diaphragm you can put a few drops of the oil into these then insert into your vagina, ideally dilute with water but it is safe to use neat. Otherwise you can use an old jug, fill with warm water and put a few drops of the oil into the water, then use the water to wash over your vulva, best to do this in the shower or over the toilet to avoid water getting everywhere. If you can handle it you can just put a few drops directly onto your vulva and into your vagina, but it can sting.

Cranberry juice, these are used when you have a urinary infection as the berries contain substances that inhibit bacteria from clinging to the walls of your urinary tract, but they are also a plus because cranberries lower the pH of your urine, which then passes over some of your vulva on it’s way out so may help tackle a yeast infection or at least ease symptoms a little.

How common is a yeast infection after treatment for bacterial vaginosis?

Posted by admin under yeast infection treatment

I was recently diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis (bv) and am on antibiotics (metrogel) for treatment. I know that antibiotics can cause other problems and even lead to other infections like yeast infections afterwards- the doctor did not give me anything to take for yeast afterwards. I was wondering if anyone has taken treatment for bv and successfully avoideded a yeast infection afterwards or if i am doomed to have one.

Your doctor can actually prescribe a medication (pill form) that is taken along with your antibiotics that will prevent a yeast infection. Since I am prone to yeast infections, I have taken the medication and have had great results when taking antibiotics – no yeast infections during the antibiotic treatment. It has been awhile since I’ve taken the medication, so unfortunately, I can’t remember the name, but contact your doctor if you are still concerned.

How long should symptoms last after a 1 day yeast infection treatment?

Posted by admin under yeast infection treatment

Used 1 day treatment on Friday, itching was better. But it’s back again today. Is this normal?
Yeast infection diagnosed by doctor.

Yes…….in fact, sometimes my infection has gotten worse before it’s gotten better. Give it a bit of time. The packaging should have told you that it could take a few days. You’ll get better soon. If not, tell your doctor and you might need a second dose if it was a bad infection.

How to cure yeast infection?

Posted by admin under cure yeast infection

I`ve experienced some problems recently, due to a yeast infection. This has been going on for some time now, and, anyways, every time I go to the doctor, he gives me this lotion, that I put on for about two weeks, the yeast infection goes away. But, after a month or so, it comes back again. Why is this? I`m really sick and tired of this damn yeast infection and I want to find a permanent cure. Please help! I`ve tried all kind of yeast infection treatments, but nothing helps in the long run.

Hi, it`s rather normal that you experience these problems. You see, yeast infection attacks almost 75% of people on this planet. But, the worst part is, it is totally mistreated. All the drugs that medical establishments provide you with, are just curing the symptoms, not the root problem. This is why you have comebacks of yeast infections over period of times. You must delve into the problem deeper, and cure the root of the problem. In my experience, this can only be done through this natural yeast infection cure that I stumbled upon recently, that has worked wonders for my patients, as well as for myself (remember, we all have this problem). You can see for yourself, and checkout the treatment I strongly recommend. I honestly hope this will help, actually, strike that, this yeast infection cure will 100% help you. The link is below.

What is the difference between a yeast infection and vaginal discharge?

Posted by admin under yeast infection

I think that I may have a yeast infection. What I want to know is this, is Monistat a safe treatment for a yeast infection? I haven’t gone to a doctor to get it verified and don’t plan on it but I want to make sure it’s safe before I start using it. Also, if this is just regular vaginal discharge, will using Monistat bring up any side affects?

The difference is that vaginal discharge is usually normal for most women and it comes out in a clear form. A yeast infection on the other hand is an overgrowth of yeast in the vaginal area. The discharge is thicker and white like cottage cheese. It will cause itching and burning. Monistat is a safe product to use. It is made Johnson and Johnson which I work for. I have had many woman call me telling me how great the product has worked for them. I have personally used it and also have had good results. I would probably recomend the Monistat 7 day product because it’s not as strong and since you have never used it before you want to be on the safe side.

If you have any other questions, let me know. I am a Women’s health specialist and will be starting school for nursing in January.

How long after you have a yeast infection can you become sexually active?

Posted by admin under yeast infection

I noticed symptoms of a yeast infection Saturday, & actually got a LIVID yeast infection on Monday. I used the 3 day Monistat treatment and i actually got a prescrption also. The next day, it was gone. I still use the cream because sometimes it can get itchy=/. Is it alright for me to become sexually active again?

Yeast infections can be passed back and forth between sexual partners, through regular intercourse and oral sex. If you had one, it is most likely that your partner does, too. Everyone involved should be treated for the same yeast infection.
