What is the best way to treat a yeast infection?

I’ve had this yeast infection for a long time. My gynecologist gave me a pill for it, but it didn’t work. I tried a suppository and that didn’t work either. I’m sick of this! Also, my yeast infection spread to my boyfriend. Is there a way to cure this never ending thing?!? And is there something that my boyfriend can be treated with as well?

My OB/GYN doctor suggestion to me–Use PLAIN yogurt (no fruit) You need to get a vaginal applicator (I asked my pharmacist for ones), fill with yogurt and put into the vagina. Leave in all night. It worked. Do this for a few days–maybe a week?? Don’t remember. Might work for a penis also??? Sorry to be so explicit if you know all of this.

Before I got pregnant I was on Yaz which gave me reoccurring yeast infections, no fun! I prefer the monistat 1 and not the ovule! Even though the cream seems messier, I think it works much better and (sorry if TMI) the ovule comes out all chunky – gross! Remember to take it right before bed and wear a pad. I was reading this question someone had asked about natural home remedies for getting rid of a yeast infection. One lady said to leave a clove of garlic in your vagina overnight. Does that really work?

I would not use a whole glove of garlic, but you take the garlic sections and skin them and thread some string through the tops and insert them overnight and pull on the sting to remove what is left. Some people will insert yogurt but this needs to be plain live active yogurt from the health and natural department. Eating alot of this yogurt should be a regular part of diet. Eat lots of fruits and veg.
You need to know if your body had a yest infection and why- we have a natural amount of yeast in our bodies and sometimes people have an excessive amount of it. I would suggest taking acidophilus 5 billion – milk free with FOS. This will help put the natural flora back into you system and help control the situation. Also drink alot of fluids.
