yeast infection I am taking 600 mg of Garlic, 365 mg of Caprylic Acid per day, and two acidophilus capsules with 5 billion bacteria in them per day. The yeast infection is already to that cottage-cheesey stage. How long should I continue my treatment before I seek medical treatments like Diflucan. Can the yeast infection at this point even be treated by natural methods? Thank you.
1. Self diagnosis is a dangerous thing. You may have something other than a yeast infection. It could be a vaginosis (which is bacterial) an STD, or a just a very persistant yeast infection. You should see your family doctor or gyne.
2. Mild vaginal yeast infections (Monilia ,or Candidiasis) are relatively common in women, and may settle with some of the "natural" treatments you mention. Yeast tends to be an opportunistic infection and may be more likely if you have recently been treated with an antibacterial agent, if you have undiagnosed or poorly controlled diabetes, are obese, or have some immune deficiency problems, such as HIV.
3. The sort of total body yeast infections that naturopaths and homeopaths routinely diagnose clients with is complete nonsense. There is no such thing and the diet advice they offer (no white foods for eg) may be reasonable advice, but is non-treatment of a non-problem.

yeast infection i think my yeast infection is caused by too much sugar..when do i know for sure it’s ok to eat a little sugar again without the infection coming back?
If you are prone to yeast infections from eating sugar, it will come back

yeast infection My son has had diahrea, it’s weird, it looks like there’s cottage cheese type looking chunks in it. The doc did not actually see his poop. But he tested him for microplasma & rhodavirus, both came back negative. He has no fever. I’m taking him to the doc again today. But I’ve only had 1 yeast infection before, so it’s hard for me to tell if maybe I have one. If I had a yeast infection & my baby gets breast milk, could he get a yeast infection?
That’s what breastmilk bowel movements look like. He’s fine. If you had a yeast infection on your nipples he might get thrush, but it would be in his mouth, not throughout his body. It would look like white spots that would not wipe off.
No worries.

yeast infection My son has 2 red areas that i thought was a rash until i asked a question earlier and someone suggested it may be a yeast infection. There is an area above his penis, its bright red and kinda circular with little red dots around it..then the other is on the side of his testicles it looks the same. It looks really red and painful but it doesn’t even seem to be bothering him? Do you think it’s a yeast infection or just a rash?
It could be a rash..use baby vasilin on him while changing each diapers and you can also use rash treatments for babies.

yeast infection I actually am pretty sure I have bacterial vaginosis, but I got Nature’s Cure homeopathic yeast control pills because they have yeast in them, which I figured would help. but it got me wondering… how in the heck is it supposed to work for a yeast infection??? I’ve seen other brands of remedies labeled "homeopathic" with candida yeast as a main ingredient, as well, so it’s not just Nature’s Cure being weird.
Homeopathy is based on the idea of curing illnesses etc. by taking what you are actually trying to cure ( a bit like the way vaccines work ). What you need to take is a probiotic with acidophilus and similar organisms. They are brilliant at preventing yeast infections if you are on antibiotics.
I don’t know how effective homeopatic remedies are for yeast infections. I know they can be quite effective for some problems but it always sounds weird to me the way they are supposed to work.

yeast infection do yeast infections hurt, can you tell if you have it. what are the signs? & what exactly is it. "down there" has been smelling bad for the past week & someone thought i had yeast infection…could i?
pleaseeee help!!! thank you sooo much!!!
thanks i dont think i have it because i am not itching…but saying that made me itchy..haha, but thanks anyway :]
Yes, if you have a yeast infection you should be experiencing a lot of irritation in and around the vagina. Mostly itching and burning sensations. You should also have more discharge than normal, and it should be very thick and mucous. There is generally also an unpleasant odor– often described as "fishy".

yeast infection what are symptoms of it and are bumps included and if not what could it be? if all the symptoms lean to Yeast Infection?
Well i’ve never heard of bumps while having a yeast infection. When you have a yeast infection usually you will have white or yellow discharge thats kind of thick. Sometimes it can cause itching or pain. Either way, the best way to find out and solve this problem is to see a gynocologist and get yourself checked out. It may be embarassing to have to do so, but its well worth it.

yeast infection I don’t know if I have one, but i have yellowy-green discarge and i mean sometimes there is so much that it soaks through. & there are these weird black specs in my discharge too. The smell is horrible, realllly strong fishy odor, and sometimes I am itchy down there. Also is there a way if i had it that I could treat it without going to the doctor, I have a fear of the doctors and would like to avoid it but I will go if I need to. & is a yeast infection fatal? Please no mean answers…
No, I am not sexually active
If it is that bad, you’ll have to go to the gyno. All the Dr. will do is swab for yeast and in minutes he’ll let you know, then give you and ORAL pill which is MUCH less messy than the OTC yeast infection treatments, and about the same price. You can get OTC meds. and see if you feel better, but you should definately see a Dr. before you misdiagnose yourself when something else could be wrong. If you let a yeast (or any vaginal) infection go too long, I’m pretty sure it can have damaging effects on the reproductive system…

yeast infection So I have been having symptoms of a yeast infection for a few days, have tried an OTC method and it has not helped. Since it is Sunday tomorrow, therefor not being able to go to a regular doctor until Monday or Tuesday.
I was wondering if a yeast infection can be diagnosed at an Urgent Care setting? Please no funny business.
Yes, a yeast infection can be diagnosed at Urgent Care. They will likely give you a stronger cream (if your yeast infection is Monistat type cream resistent) and Diflucan. First, make sure that you have used a seven day over the counter treatment, such as Monistat 7, not a 1, 3, or 5 day treatment, as many of them do not adequately get rid of yeast infections. If after 5 days, your symptoms have gotten worse, then you should see a gynocologist. If it’s already been 5 days, yes, you can go to urgent care, and they will be able to diagnose it.

yeast infection I’m 21 and I was just at the doctor’s today. I’ve never had a yeast infection before but my doctor told me that the anitbiotics I just finished have given me a yeast infection. She gave me a 1 day treatment and advised that I pick up a 7 day pack of monistat. What am I to expect while trying to cure this? I’ve heard it like "runs" out of you? Any tips or advice would be great.
Yeast infection are so annoying.
Antibiotics kills not only the bad bacteria but also the good bacteria in the vagina.
Since you are not suseptible to yeast infections, ask your doctor for the 1 pill ( but it costs around $10.00) or just do the Monistat treatment.
While you are going through this, expect itching and possible discharge.. Do not douche during this time either…
Eat lots of yogurt during antibiotic treatment, it puts back the PH balance in the vaginal wall..
Avoid sex during this treatment also….
