I've had these before and am currently afflicted with one, what i've found to work is raw garlic, i know it sounds gross but garlic naturally helps to fight yeast. what you do is peel a clove of garlic and cut it down to size so it fits all the way in your belly button, pop it in and leave it for a few hours, yes your belly button is going to stink like garlic but it will no longer stink like the yeast infection does. Do this once a day until it clears up, also if her belly button is pierced she should clearly take out the belly button ring until the yeast infection has completely cleared up. Hope this helps :)

My OB/GYN doctor suggestion to me--Use PLAIN yogurt (no fruit) You need to get a vaginal applicator (I asked my pharmacist for ones), fill with yogurt and put into the vagina. Leave in all night. It worked. Do this for a few days--maybe a week?? Don't remember. Might work for a penis also??? Sorry to be so explicit if you know all of this.
References :
I suggest you both start taking all-natural Optiflora. This two-product system uses new technology to protect beneficial microflora during the rigors of shipping, storage, and the acidic journey through your stomach. Other products claim live microflora at the time of manufacture. Optiflora guarantees the delivery of live microflora to your intestines.

This two-product system includes Probiotic (Bifidus & Acidophilus...microflora) + Prebiotic (FOS...food source for microflora). Patented guaranteed delivery of 500 million microflora to intestines.

This will treat the cause and not just the symptoms.

Also Garlic Complex destroys overgrowth of yeast.

Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions.
References :
If your dog has recurring yeast infections, try changing the food you feed. Go with one that doesn't have corn or wheat in it. The ears are just one route that the dogs' body uses to expel toxins. The other is thru the skin.
The vinegar/alcohol or vinegar/ distilled water at a 50/50 mix will take care of the yeast. Use an eyedropper and put a full dropper in the ear. Massage it in and let the dog shake it out.
Go to Barnes and Noble and look in the pet section. There are several good books on holistic health for dogs.
References :
I have a dog that has recurring yeast infections in his ears. My holistic vet told me that it can, but not always, be cured by increasing the acidity in the dog's system. So whenever he gets a yeast infection I add a tablespoon of crushed pineapples to his evening meal. He loves it and the acid helps offset the yeast.
References :
You can try a Holistic vet, but my experience is that yeast infections can become VERY deep seated. Dogs have L shaped ear canals and many crevices to hold bacteria and yeast. One of the most common reasons for ear infections that won't go away, is not treating the ear long enough to fully get rid of the infection. There are some dogs, (like cockers and bassets), that have chronic ear problems. The owner MUST be religious about cleaning and treating the ear. Even though the ear may look clean to you, there may still be yeast and bacteria down where you can't see it. The owner must continue to clean and medicate the ear regardless. Once the course of medicine is over. Regular cleaning should be done to maintain the ear. If, during cleaning, you get ANY dark colored material out of the ear, cleaning needs to be stepped up to control the build up. Ear problems can be very bad. Dogs with very chronic, severe problems, have to have the ear canal removed and sewn up. That is worst case scenario, but is common.
It is also possible that it is not JUST a yeast infection. There may be a bacterial infection also. The combination of the two are really hard to eradicate.
If you are diligent, you should be able to resolve it.

DO NOT USE ALCOHOL. In an infected ear it will burn like hell - horribly painful. Get a cleaning solution from a vet. They are enzymatic to break up earwax and help remove it. Plain water will not work. And the Petsmart brands are worthless.
References :
Former Vet Tech
